iPhone 5S Screen – Is it Big enough, How good is it?

Two days ago I received my new iPhone 5S smartphone. I personally prefer a phone with a  large screen, something around 5 inch can be great. I bought the iPhone 5S because I need an iPhone for app development.

Nevertheless, it was a good change for me to experiment with this popular phone and see how well it fits my specific needs, others those of the app development. At the first time I opened the phone I was amazed with how good the screen looks in terms of color and resolution. In a matter effect, you don’t need Full HD resolution in order not to see the pixels on the screen as the screen itself is quite small. (more…)

iPhone 5S First Impressions – Just got mine

After spending years with my Nexus One and Samsung Galaxy Young S6310 phones, I’ve decided to buy a new phone. I did that for couple of reasons, but the most important one was my need to develop and debug apps for Apple iPhone. I’ve finally decided to purchase the iPhone 5S and it’s already with me and I am testing it out.

I have to be honest — If I wouldn’t had the need to develop apps for iOS, I would probably picked up an Android phablet, the LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S4 or Sony Xperia Z1. At first when I knew that I will be buying an iPhone, I leaned towards the iPhone 5C because it was cheaper, but marginal price difference convinced me to spend a bit more and buy the Apple iPhone 5S instead. Lumia 1020 Camera vs Standard Compact Digital Camera?

Nokia Lumia 1020 and Canon compact cameraIn this article I want to talk about the Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView camera and check whether or not one should consider also buying a conventional digital camera too.  As the digital camera market continues to shrink each month and with sales dropping dramatically each year for all camera’s categories (e.g. DSLR, Mirrorless, Compact) — the question that remains is whether there is a reason to buy a compact digital camera in the first place, and if so, why? What are the Chances for Microsoft Succeeding in the Mobile Phone Business?

success chartsWhen I read that Microsoft bought Nokia , I felt that Microsoft is going to make a big change in its strategy in the Mobile Phone industry. Years past, and Microsoft only holds 3.3 percentage of the Smartphone  sales in the mobile industry market according to 2Q2013 according to gartner.

Android is leading the pack with 79.0%, followed by iOS with 14.2% and Blackberry in the fourth place with 2.7%. If I read the map correctly, after buying Nokia, Microsoft will probably release its own range of Microsoft branded smartphones — but this is just an assumption of course. Microsoft wants to secure its third position and attract new user by producing innovative phones under its brand name.  (more…)
